Procedure Guide

Biopsy forceps are inserted through an endoscope’s working channel and advanced under direct endoscopic view to reach the target tissue. Follow the steps below for safe and effective use.

1. Insert the Device Biopsy forceps are inserted through an endoscope’s working channel.
2. Advance to the Target Site Advance the device in small, controlled increments while observing the endoscopic view to reach the target tissue.
3. Expose the Jaws Hold the over-sheath grip and push the handle distally until it rests against the over-sheath grip, exposing the jaws.
4. Open & Bite the Tissue Open the jaws, push them into the target tissue, and close the jaws to bite/cut the tissue sample.
5. Close the Jaw To close the jaw, pull the slider proximally until tactile resistance is felt in the handle.
6. Withdraw the Forceps Maintain a firm, closed grip on the handle, and slowly withdraw the forceps from the endoscope.
7. Preserve the Sample Immediately place the tissue sample into a container with formalin for examination.
8. Single-Use Only Devices should be disposed of after one procedure and never re-sterilized.
